Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) works with Canadians in all areas of the economy and in all parts of the country to improve conditions for investment, enhance Canada's innovation performance, increase Canada's share of global trade and build a fair, efficient and competitive marketplace. Eighteen federal departments and agencies make up the Innovation, Science and Economic Development Portfolio. ISED operates the Computers for Schools Plus program under its portfolio of initiatives and provides ongoing support to its provincial & territorial Computers for Schools affiliate sites.
The Government of Canada provides ongoing support through surplus and end of life technology donations. Operational support is provided by the Government of Canada through the department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. Compensated youth internships are supported through the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Skills Strategy. The strategy is a commitment by the Federal Government to help young people, particularly those facing barriers to employment get the information and gain the skills, work experience and abilities they need to make a successful transition into the labour market.
The Government of Manitoba provides continued support through surplus and end of life technology donations. Operational support is received through an annual grant provided by Manitoba Education & Early Childhood Learning. The grant has allowed the organization to grow its capacity and effectively support publicly funded schools in Manitoba through free and affordable technology solutions.

The Pas
Located in northern Manitoba, University College of the North (UCN) seeks to bring out the potential of students and the local community, which consists of a young and growing population that is more than 70% indigenous. UCN is positioned to contribute significantly to the social, cultural, and economic development in the region and the entire province of Manitoba. In collaboration with UCN, a first of its kind, hybrid training opportunity has been developed to expose indigenous women to the information technology sector through a structured classroom driven curriculum and hands on experience. The training opportunity has included many significant cultural teachings such as the "Sweetgrass" component.
